The new generation of sustainable binders from renewable raw materials is the focus of the Cork.Connect project, supported by COMPETE 2030, which aims to strengthen the international recognition of Portuguese cork.

The Cork.Connect operation, promoted by APCOR and co-financed by COMPETE 2030, aims to add value to cork and expand its use in approximately ten international markets. The objective is to showcase the technical and environmental characteristics of cork, with a particular emphasis on the natural cork stopper, thereby reinforcing the recognition of this Portuguese product among consumers and professionals in the wine sector.
One of the promotional actions took cork to Times Square, New York, through a campaign associating responsible wine consumption with the choice of a natural cork stopper. This initiative is part of a broader strategy in the United States, combining presence at wine events, informational activities, engagement with specialized media, and social media outreach.
The international campaign of Cork.Connect also covers markets such as France, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and China, with planned initiatives in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. Actions will be tailored to the reality of each country and are expected to continue until 2027.
The operation, co-financed by COMPETE 2030, will be featured at the program's stand during the Mostra dos Fundos Europeus (European Funds Exhibition). At this space, APCOR will present Cork.Connect and its contribution to the valorization and international promotion of Portuguese cork.
