The Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) has reinforced its commitment to knowledge valorization and innovation with the establishment of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO).

This new structure, integrated within the Research and Innovation Support Office (GAII), is tasked with assisting researchers, faculty, students, and external partners in intellectual property protection, valorizing research results, developing collaborative projects, and transferring knowledge and technology to society and the business sector.
The creation of the TTO stems from IPT's strategy to enhance the impact of its scientific activity, fostering a closer connection between academic research and the needs of companies and organizations. The University's participation in the INOVC+ project, an Innovation Ecosystem for Knowledge and Technology Transfer in the Central Region, was crucial in consolidating the necessary competencies.
More than just a support service, the TTO aims to become a central element of IPT's innovation ecosystem, contributing to transforming knowledge into economic and social value, fostering strategic partnerships, and amplifying the impact of research in the region and the country.
