Professor Paulina Faria, from the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC) at NOVA FCT, has been re-elected as Expert on Earth-based Construction for the Development Advisory Committee (DAC) of RILEM, for the 2026-2028 term.

This marks the professor's second consecutive term in this international organization. RILEM, an acronym for Réunion Internationale des Laboratoires et Experts des Matériaux, brings together specialists and laboratories dedicated to construction materials, systems, and structures. The Development Advisory Committee is responsible for guiding RILEM's technical and scientific development, comprising experts from various fields.
Paulina Faria, who also represents the Ibero-American network PROTERRA focused on earth-based construction, sees her re-election as a reinforcement of NOVA FCT's presence in international construction materials networks. This area is increasingly vital for sustainable construction and underscores the faculty's recognized work in earth-based building.
