The European Union has launched the European Startup and Scaleup Hubs (ESSH) Pilot call, with applications open until January 5, aimed at strengthening collaboration between innovation ecosystems and accelerating the growth of deep tech startups and scaleups.

This Horizon Europe initiative will support two pan-European innovation networks, representing a relevant opportunity for entities coordinating innovation ecosystems, incubators, accelerators, universities, technology centers, and entrepreneurship support organizations seeking to enhance their European dimension.
The goal is to promote access to talent, infrastructure, funding, and international opportunities for high-potential startups and scaleups. The call also aims to strengthen collaboration between these ecosystems.
To present the objectives and participation conditions, the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) and the DG Research & Innovation will hold an online information session on October 22, 2026, from 09:00 to 10:20 (Lisbon time), including a Q&A session.
Participation in the session is free of charge, upon prior registration. Interested parties can submit their questions in advance via Slido (#ESSH2026). The recording and presentation materials will be available after the session on the event page.
Further information on the call and participation conditions is available on the European Commission's Funding & Tenders Portal and the Work Programme 2026-2027 European Innovation Ecosystems.
