The Government has approved a €10 million allocation to support farmers who suffered losses following rural fires that occurred between May 1 and October 15, 2026, across several regions of mainland Portugal.

The new measure is aimed at parishes not covered by a notice opened in August of this year, seeking to ensure farmers have the necessary means to quickly recover their productive capacity and ensure the continuity of agricultural activity in affected territories.
Eligible for this funding are agricultural holdings that have suffered damage exceeding 30% of their productive potential. Support is provided as a non-reimbursable subsidy, with eligible investments up to €400,000.
