Key sectors highlighted are Business Capitalisation and Innovation and REPowerEU, each with 10 milestones and targets, followed by Health and Social Responses (9 each), the Sea (8), and Housing and Digital Enterprises (7 each).
Benefiting areas include the construction and renovation of health and housing units, modernization of educational establishments, strengthening of social responses, energy efficiency, development of renewable energies, research and innovation, and the digital transformation of businesses. These investments aim to boost competitiveness, promote territorial and social cohesion, and improve the quality of life for Portuguese citizens.
“"This final Payment Request is a moment that belongs to all citizens and to the entire country. This final stretch was particularly demanding, but we always believed that, with everyone's commitment, it would be possible to achieve this goal. We succeeded thanks to the work of thousands of people and entities across the national territory."
Fernando Alfaiate further stated that while the payment request phase is now closed, the responsibility to rigorously monitor these investments with transparency to ensure concrete benefits for the Portuguese people continues.
The submission of this request marks a historic milestone in the PRR's execution, signifying the completion of the evidence submission phase to the European Commission. It closes a decisive cycle of commitment, execution, and transformation geared towards Portugal's future.
