“"Technology is changing how legal information is created, published, found, and understood. Artificial intelligence is also changing how people interact with the law. Increasingly, legal information is read not only by people but also by digital systems. These developments create new opportunities. They also bring new duties. Innovation should not diminish trust; it should strengthen it."

The Serralves Foundation, in the city of Porto, will host the 22nd edition of the European Forum of Official Journals from November 24-26. The event, organized by the Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (INCM), coincides with the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Diário da República, Portugal's official journal.
The forum brings together approximately 80 representatives from official journals of various European countries, aiming to foster the sharing of experiences and technical exchange on legal publishing and public access to legislative information.
Under the theme «Public Trust in the Digital Age», this year's edition will address the challenges posed by technological transformation in legal publishing.
Nuno Sampaio emphasized that trust is built on strong institutions, solid processes, and a clear sense of public service, highlighting the Forum's value for sharing experiences and mutual learning.
Discussions will cover the security of publishing processes, digital preservation of legal information, interoperability of structured data, legislation systems, and new ways of providing information, as well as issues related to accessibility and clear language.
The use of artificial intelligence in the publication and access to legal information will also be a central point, addressing challenges of trust, transparency, and contextualization of law in digital environments.
The INCM will have an active participation, with interventions focused on digital public trust, preservation, and ensuring access to the official journal, as well as legal literacy projects.
